In route between Ghana and Capt Town the students learned the South African national anthem. If you look carefully you can see Desmond Tutu arrive late and add his voice.
We arrived early in the morning. That's Table Mountain in the background.
This is the view from the Company Gardens (Botanical Gardens) on the town tour the same day. Note the "tablecloth on the mountain".

The next day we had lunch at a restaraunt in the townships. The link below will give you some of the history of the word "township" as it applies to South Africa
About the "townships"
At the restaraunt we were treated to a Balafon performance.
The students and professors also tried playing.
We took a tour of Cape Point. It was blowing hard and when we got to the top it rained pins and needles.
When we went to see the penguins it rained hard again.
The rain didn't seem to bother the African penguins.
The penguins even had their own crossing sign!
We had a very nice meal at the Karibu Restaurant which specializes in South African food.
Up till our last day in Cape Town the ferry to Robben Island was not operating due to high winds.
