The first thing to grab our attention as we approached our dock were these incredible crooked buildings!
They are real. It's not due to a problem with the camera.
Strange buildings seemed to be everywhere. Saw this one later in the day from our bus.
Turns out it's the Meridian Hotel with a swimming pool on top.
Found this in a shopping mall near the dock.
The first day we went on a nature walk on Pulau Ubin island. To get there we caught a ride on this bumboat.
When it turned out that there was no lunch for the group. I skipped the bicycle ride and had lunch with new friends -- Danny, Alvin and an unidentified third person.
After lunch I did the nature walk. It is a bit of the Singapore area that is not covered with concrete. That was why Danny and Alvin visited the park each week to relax and drink beer.
This is Josh, one of our adopted students, drinking coconut milk after the nature walk.
That night was Halloween. We did the night safari at the zoo (it's a great zoo!). Zoo night on Halloween is very popular because of great animated exhibits like this that rise up to scare the kids.
We had two days in Singapore. On the second day we went to a cooking class.
Here we are on the balcony of the cooking school overlooking their herb garden area.
It was a hands on-cooking class. We students prepared a great meal which we ate later.
