"Smoking Volcano - Starboard Side!" Squawked the PA - I grabbed my camera and took this picture.
Betty Waldron (our LifeLong Learner coordinator) was given a good-bye party. She left us in Kobe.
Here we come....
.. into the Port of Kobe, Japan Note the brass band.
Later that day we boarded a bus...
...that took us to the station where we boarded the Bullet Train (Shinkosan)...
...that took us to this quiet place along a stream.
Our first view of the World Heritage Hiroshima Peace Memorial.
The Genbaku Dome is the melted remains of the structure at Ground Zero.
Inside the museum there is a model showing the blast center (above ground) relative to the city.
Outside there are commerative plaques like this one.
This plaque says the bridge survived and worked fine after being repaired.
I liked the rose garden.
It was well cared for.

It was a cheerful place with its great ferris wheel.
The Port Building had a nice tall Christmas Tree!
As we left in the evening the city lights (especially the colorful ferris wheel) were magnificant!
