We spent a couple days in Luxembourg City while we caught up with things like laundry. (25K)
The city has many walls and viaducts. Within the walls there are old military tunnels called casemates that you can walk through. After you buy a ticket. (36K)

Our hostel was located at the base of this viaduct. It had internet and we sent you all an email from there. (33K)
We walked all over the city. We bought helmets for our upcoming bicycle ride. We checked out this flower market. (37K)
We found the National Library which was formerly a Catholic Cathedral. (19K)
The very best thing we saw was this small gauge train that the kids could ride on!! (37K)
After our rest we headed on to Amsterdam. We wandering through a little of the red light district trying to find our hostel. This is our hostel viewed from across the canal. Amsterdam is more canal than land. (21K)
The University of Amsterdam (just across the canal from our hostel) provides low cost meals for students and frugal residents. We chatted with this native during our meal. (34K)
We met our fellow bike and barge participants at the Schiphol Airport
a few miles outside of Amsterdam and easily reached by train. We all got bused to a place called Zaanse Schans which is a large tourist complex in the country
where they have windmills, demonstrate cheese manufacturing, and wooden shoe manufacturing. (25K)
They even provide you with your picture to commerate your visit. Kinda like Disneyland. (49K)
When we caught up with our ship, it was docked in downtown Amsterdam near the train station. It was tied up next to another barge which we walked across to get aboard. Couldn't get a good picture
until the next day. But we were close to this great replica of an East Indies Trading Ship! (20K)
The next day we got a good look at our Barge the Lena Maria. (60K)
That's Garrett our Bike Master and Commander. He adjusted each bike for us. Then we were given a riding test. (40K)
The next day after breakfast we got into our bike clothes and off loaded the bikes. We were ready to ride! (39K)

We were lucky. After lunch several small boats came through the lock in the middle of town. We got to see it in action! (32K)
In Holland as everyone knows they grow Tulips. We rode by Tulip fields! Fields of Tulips waiting to have the flowers cut off so the bulbs can be sold. (31K)

We got to ride on the sea side of the dike. This works best with a tail wind. (19K)

On the 5th day of our Bike and Barge adventure the Barge left the canals for open water to cross the Waddenzee (in the North Sea) (31K)

Leeuwarden is famous for this leaning tower. It doesn't look like it's leaning very much but it really is. (24K)

Near Sneek we toured this fantastic working wind powered sawmill! (37K)
When we visited there was no snow. This is the view of the stock pond where the logs to be sawn are kept. (32K)

In the evening Enkhuizen was filled with folk music and many people wore historic costumes. It was fun! (32K)
