Subject: Very Bad Service

Dear Sir/Madam,

During our recent travels on your rail system in Switzerland we had a Very
Bad Experience. Here are the details:

- We purchased a Eurail pass in March 08 (see attachment 1)
- At Luzern we presented our Eurail pass at the station and told the
attendant we wanted to ride the Glacier Express. We were told we needed to
purchase a reservation. (See attachment 2). We were not told that the Eurail
pass would not cover the expense to ride the Glacier Express.
- While aboard the Glacier Express the conductor told us that the Eurail
pass was not valid. I asked if it entitled us to a discount. The conductor
repeated his statement that the Eurail pass was not valid. We were required
to pay CHF 60 each to ride the train. (see attachment 3) The conductor would
only accept cash.

We have two complaints.

- We feel we should have been told that the Eurail pass did not cover the
expense of the Glacier Express when we purchased the reservation in Luzern.
In Norway and other countries we traveled in this was always explained. We
feel we should have been provided with an opportunity to purchase the
tickets using a credit card at Luzern.

- We feel the conductor should have acknowledged that we were entitled to a
25% discount as provided in the brochure for the Eurail pass . (see
attachment 4) We also have concerns about the conductor's insisting on cash.
Why would he not accept travelers checks or a credit card which can be
traced?

Our experience reflects badly on your travel system. We plan to point out
this problem on our website and share it with our friends. We also will
alert other travelers via the various travel blogs which we have available.

If you have any comments with regard to what happened please reply within
the next two weeks so we can include your response on our website.

ON JUNE 6th Swiss Travel System responded saying that were not the right folks to deal with this and that they were forwarding my complaint to the Swiss Federal Railways' customer service. So far I have heard nothing more.
